"How can it be so wrong when I feel so right...Coz you ... you light up my life" You're right! These lines are lyrics from the song, "You light up my life". Obviously, the lyrics say that emotions should rule no matter what consequences one may face as a result of following his/her feelings. Emotions are not always based on the given facts or rooted from truth. That is why, to conclude that something is right just because you feel good about it is very dangerous and devastating in the end.
Another thing about emotion is that it does not last long. So imagine decisions made because of emotions alone... especially if the impact of that decision will be for lifetime. You may argue with me about marriage. The thing is you should really love the person you're going to marry but to love a married person is stupidity.
Emotions should not rule. Instead it should be ruled. The truth is our emotions is a gift from God and we can and should enjoy it. We can only enjoy it as we yield ourselves to Christ.
